Sequoia Solutions was founded in 1999 by Tim Salazar.

Mr. Salazar found a large body of individuals who had a thorough understanding of technology, yet had minimal ability to leverage these skills into successful business strategies. Similarly, there were plenty of individuals with strong business acumen, but limited ability to apply technical solutions to their most basic business problems.

Sequoia Solutions was formed to bridge this gap. Just like engineering is required to bring scientific discoveries into our daily lives, Sequoia was formed to make existing technological innovations applicable to the business world in real and meaningful ways.

Bridging the Digital Divide

In 2002, Sequoia Solutions began operations in Mr. Salazar’s home state, New Mexico. It became apparent quickly that despite all the technological innovations over the last few decades, many areas, including the rural Southwest, still had no way of receiving the benefits of these advances.

Sequoia began a new initiative to provide basic IT services in traditionally underserved markets, specifically, school districts in rural New Mexico and Arizona. By utilizing our expertise and identifying sources of federal funding, we were able to greatly improve the IT infrastructure of numerous schools throughout the Southwest United States.
